SPECIAL SKI TRIP TO PRATO NEVOSO, ITALY
Prato Nevoso was introduced as a potential venue for a ski trip for Surrey SEND Schools when the trip was first imagined in the mid 1990s by Ruth and Alan, and the first ski trip was organised for 1998. This started our relationship with a wonderful resort that has taken us to their hearts and, but for the interruption of two years where there was no trip due to COVID and one trip to Austria, we have returned every year. We are wonderfully looked after by the Scuola Sci Prato Nevoso, The Hotel Mondole and the people of the town. In 2025 we will be travelling to Prato for the 25th time.
Our students get to experience the awe of the mountains, experience a new culture, enjoy a holiday with students from other schools in surrey and have the opportunity to learn to ski under the guidance of the Scuola Sci and Snowboard Prato Nevoso, with lessons in the morning and afternoon. The trip includes full board at The Hotel Mondole and in the evenings we run different evenings including discos and karaoke, with games and swimming available in the hotel. Certificates of achievement are awarded every evening after dinner when we also participate in a Ski Trip tradition of handing out The Laughing Hat for ‘humorous’ achievement.
